    Cons

Sometimes the work is too much, but that's a good thing at a startup. Hours are flexible.

I have been working at GEO Semiconductor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1. High quality. well positioned product - this is very important. 2. Fast-paced environment. Steep learning curve with many challenging tasks/projects. 3. Great co-workers - knowledgeable, friendly, easily approachable, team mentality. 4. Projects you are working on have a direct impact on the company. This is very rewarding. 5. Company culture in general is very open, friendly and employee oriented. 6. Upper management (CEO, CTO, SVPs) is motivated with a lot of experience in the industry. I think they are leading the company in the right direction with a targeted market focus. Also, its an absolute pleasure to work for the CEO (Dave Orton). 7. Immediate managers also have a lot of experience; work directly with their teams and are fully dedicated towards the jobs and their teams. 8. Competitive salaries.

    Cons

    1. Lot of simultaneous projects/tasks. This makes it difficult to focus on one thing. This is understandable since the company is growing. However, this combined with different processes (some of which have been newly installed) makes it mildly irritating. 2. Not much invested in core R&D. 3. Taking breaks is a little tough, but can be worked out with managers. 4. No employer-matched 401K.

I have been working at GEO Semiconductor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Arguably one of the best video processing chips in the market. New flagship product scheduled to hit the market soon. Automotive Tier 1s and OEMs showing great interest and momentum is growing rapidly every day. Development processes have improved significantly over the past year or so. Greater focus and drive towards automotive standards and safety now. Smart and capable co-workers. In-house knowledge is strengthening every day with the addition of new people. Team camaraderie is good. More often than not, your coworkers will help you with what you need. CEO is a good guy. Really. It's pre-IPO. Stock options. Base salary is quite competitive with the big players unlike many startups who try to woo you on stock options alone. Influence in automotive imaging is more than you'd expect for a company this small.

    Cons

Customer firefights can be a pain. But as the teams grow and product/processes improve, these are trending down (wish it was faster). Teams are small but growing - would be nice to have more people on board quickly so we can accomplish more sooner. No bonus structure in place - but that's probably typical of a pre-IPO company.
