Pros
At Function, you learn a great deal about mechanical design, CAD, testing & evaluation, manufacturing processes, and product development. The breadth of problems you work on, small teams, and hands-on experience enable you to grow into a professional and capable engineer. You also have the privilege of working alongside colleagues who are both bright engineers and all-around fantastic people.
Cons
The offices can at times be a little quiet when everyone is doing heads down work.

Lots of different work from all sorts of clients All coworkers are smart, knowledgeable, and really know mechanical engineering Great place to learn about product design and mechanism design Has never had a layoff in the nearly 40 year history of the company
Cons
not much upward mobility because it's a very flat company with a sole proprietor
