    Pros

Colleagues are great, and are your saving grace in the horrid environment

    Cons

This is a toxic organization ran by a number of sociopaths. Michael Marchbank allows his sociopathic senior executive to proliferate their vitriol. He is quite possible the poorest leader the organization has had.

    Advice to Management

If things don't change Fraser Health will be driven into the ground

I worked at Fraser Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you get into the right team, the atmosphere is great and the health benefits are also great.

    Cons

There are some not so nice people, who like politics. If you don’t like being in the “in-crowd” or you don’t like politics, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the people you know who are negatively disruptive. And in order to retain good talent, you need to be nicer to the people who just like to go to work and do a good job.

I have been working at Fraser Health part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many sites to choose from when you cannot find a decent manager. Some units actually find camaraderie amidst the chaos and are pleasant to workin.

    Cons

Unethical and often unqualified leadership. Focus on cost savings hidden as quality care initiatives. Managers running wards and units on bare bones staffing to hit their budget targets. This is not good healthcare... or at least, not good enough for me to accept in my province! This all leads to moral distress, anxiety and attrition.

    Advice to Management

Hire MBAs with emotional intelligence not RNs with masters in nursing who micro manage.
