I worked at FortuneBuilders full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They believe in work/life balance and self improvement. This is exemplified in the way they do business.

    Cons

Sometimes the please everyone attitude can hinder growth for others who need it, but seems to all work out in the end.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing but understand that trying to please the one bad apple can eventually spoil the bunch.

    Pros

Great pay and great culture. Management is truly concerned about your growth and getting you the biggest paychecks possible. Laid back office with some flexibility

    Cons

Long hours. Be ready to work. It is what you make it. Straight commission so when it's going good, it's good. When its going bad, it's bad.

I worked at FortuneBuilders full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you get in with the right people you can make a decent amount of money working here. There are some really good, smart people in some areas of the company.

    Cons

Where to start.. there is a cult like culture, which can be fine except you are actually pressured to join a church that it seems like one of the upper executives is getting a kickback from. If you don't join that church then you have no way of getting into the circle of people who can advance. It doesn't matter if your numbers are better or not. You see regularly told to live above the line as you watch everyone around...

    Advice to Management

Hire someone with an MBA and actual management experience outside of the fortune builder bubble. And don't fire them for trying to fix things.

I worked at FortuneBuilders full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Free lunches from time to time and my team was great.

      Cons

The management on the upper level is poor, and they get too technical at times which takes away from the actual manager's job. There is NO long term thought planning. It is all get this done but they never think through what they want. Pay is WAY below market value for all technology positions, and there is no promotion or growth process in place. This is a good starter job if you enjoy long hours, support on the weekends,...

I have been working at FortuneBuilders

        Pros

FortuneBuilders is an awesome company with high integrity in everything they do. The product is easy to sell because it works and is the best in its category. There is a focus on self-development and positivity.

        Cons

The culture in the San Diego office vs. the culture on the Preview Team is quite different. If you are planning on becoming a "road warrior" on the Preview Team, please make sure you know exactly how you are going to be "rated" and the challenges the team faces with "growth feedback." If you want an entry into B2C sales, this is a great place to start so long as you do not mind traveling 100% of the time.

        Advice to Management

Improve how you track people's performance. Metrics should not be based on popularity contests every quarter as it kills morale and creates a lot of confusion.
