Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, albeit it’s obviously quite upsetting to read. We put a lot of energy into trying to make Firefish a brilliant place to work for employees, so to discover that you were having a completely different experience to the one we thought you were having has come as a bit of a shock. We’re genuinely sorry you had such a difficult time with us, and also that you didn’t feel comfortable to share the concerns raised here with us while you were in the business. We recognise we have a duty of care to ensure that all our employees are being treated with respect, and for whatever reason with you it’s clear we fell short of that. Having said that, the review contains some very strong accusations, including an accusation of discrimination based on age and ethnicity, which at this point we strongly refute. The review does not give any detail as to how age or ethnicity affected your experience with us, or how those characteristics resulted in you being treated differently to others. This accusation was never raised with us while you were in the business, so we don’t know what it is referring to. To paint us as an employer who discriminates, without providing any evidence, is both unfair and against the law, and as such we'd really ask you to reconsider whether the language you've used here is fair or appropriate. While we recognise you're under no obligation to do so, we'd also appreciate it if you would contact our HR team to discuss things in more detail so we can understand better how our actions impacted you and your experience, and can make sure that it isn’t something that is repeated in the future. We recognise that our perception of what Firefish is like as a place to work and the lived experience of our employees can be two very different things. We have a lot of processes to try and mitigate that, from anonymous employee surveys through to access to independent HR professionals and more. But it's clear from this review we have more work to do here, and we will be taking additional steps internally in the coming weeks to ensure this is not an experience that others within the business are having without our knowledge. We'd like to end by repeating that we’re truly sorry that you had this experience while you were with us. We genuinely had no idea you felt like this, and would urge you to drop us an email to discuss things in more detail so we can understand better where we went wrong and help ensure others do not have the same experience you did.
