Leadership really took this company off course. Once the scale-up started, there was a growth at all cost approach for hiring but the vision for the product was never clarified. Clients were consistently disappointed by changing priorities that resulted in SOW's not being fulfilled. The siloing of information between departments was baffling, and there was little visibility into what other teams were working on and how this would impact your work (ex. product roadmap not shared with CX). There were multiple instances of management going back on their word (ex. Aug 2022: company is doing great and we are on track ---> Sep 2022: ~15% layoff, but don't worry we won't do any more layoffs ---> Jan 2023: another round of layoffs). I have seen a few replies to reviews on here using the "macroeconomic situation" as an excuse, but that is a pitiful deflection. The writing was on the wall in early 2023, and there was ample opportunities to slow growth to a more sustainable pace. The issues with transparency and communication from management were brought up repeatedly for years and never seemed to be addressed. All companies have to make hard choices and adapt to changing economic situations, but good companies do not lie, deflect, and obfuscate in the process.
