Pros

Bagel Tuesdays, drowning out the pain at the annual happy hour.

Cons

There is an extremely high amount of micromanagement in recruiting and you are constantly hounded about metrics even when you’re consistently hitting them. Management is completely clueless and values inconsequential dials (the amount of obviously blocked numbers you call and leave pointless voicemails with is astounding) over actual submits and results. They enforce ridiculous policies regarding the regulation of PTO and work-from-home option (this job can EASILY be done from with a headset and laptop yet they regularly denied requests to work from home stating “we’re one team and need to be together in the office for morale and support” regardless of bad driving conditions, sickness, or personal reasons), meanwhile management arrives at work whenever they feel like it, enjoying 2-3 hours lunches, and leaving early even when they’re twisting employees’ arms to stay and work late because it’s “all hands on deck.” The work environment is also basically high school all over again. Rampant favoritism is present (I would say “cronyism” but a VP “didn’t know what that word means” when it was brought up in the employee engagement feedback surveys) where promotions and job security are all contingent upon who you’re related to, who you’re friends with, or who you’re sleeping with. The only people that could potentially last in this department are those that have no scruples about turning a blind eye to these problems and keeping their mouths closed unless it’s to lather unfounded praise on the higher-ups to stay in their favor. There is also a distinct lack of professionalism throughout, where employees were sorted in a “stank rank” to figure out who would be most/least likely to get laid off in the next round of purging, a VP forced everyone to hold a prayer circle to “pray for more nurses to be recruited to please the client” at a CA onboarding event, etc.

Pros

Free food. The ability to work from home every once in a while. A casual work attire.

Cons

They expect your work to be your life and that you'll jump at the opportunity to work more hours or over weekends with no reward. Very limited opportunities to advance your career. Management picks a handful of favorites and only they get promotions or pay raises. Your hard work will go unnoticed if you are not part of this clique. Be ready to feel unappreciated and undervalued. They talk a big talk but never walk the walk. The company is filled with big, vague ideas that sound great but no one bothers implementing them.

Pros

Annual happy hour is a nice escape.

Cons

Hired-to-fired type of company that preaches values, but rarely exercises them. Glorified call center that promotes friends/lovers/family over equally-qualified employees. Values quantity over quality, in that recruiters are motivated by fear of their daily closely-monitored stats, so much so that they will call phone numbers they know are disconnected just to increase their dials. Rampant favoritism of “rock stars” most often reflects those who have no fresh ideas and are comfortable being delusionally happy sheep in the herd. If you’re not looking to be part of a clique or are not comfortable sucking up to management, watch your back- introverts are often the first to go. You’ll be lucky if you get a year into the company.
