Pros

Interesting instrumentation and spectrum of applications. Good customer base - varied and interesting in all science areas.

Cons

SAP and CRM system was very badly in need of a complete overhaul. Company takes the word "frugal" and 'bean counting' to a new ridiculous level. Some instrumentation seemed to be designed by people with a headache as they laid out the circuit boards and mechanical components - not convenient for servicing by an means. No parts carried by field service; JIT approach that often waited for parts from overseas.

Pros

HQ/Innovation center is empty around 1700, it is not expected that you work more than the normal 37 Hours. The Innovation Center is a nice place to work.

Cons

Dont know where to start to be honest.. Three times i have had to comfort crying colleagues because of unhappiness/frustrations. A very competent and good team leader who left the company in frustration said "Here at FOSS you dont get rewarded if you do your best, only if you do as you are told" which is the best single sentence describing the company. (guess that can be good, if you just want that type of job). Most of the managers there are administrators, very few leaders. Everyone except a few fear the CEO (Kim Vejlby Hansen) and never dares to bring something to him they fear he wont like. Management think they reward results, but because of the fear culture, only ideas/concepts/project which are already aligned with the CEO's way of thinking is accepted by middle management and therefore can be approved by top management. This results in only mediocre projects are approved. And if you have bigger ambitions than mediocre, you will only become disappointed. Salary is low medium, once you get hired there are no real raises (1-3%) no real negotiations etc. Pension is 1,5% Top management have this idea, that people only start to learn something when they work at FOSS, everything they can they learned at FOSS. What you learn is to navigate politics. Basically I left the company because all passion i had was sucked out of me, I became a shadow of my self, became indifferent, stopped learning, stopped improving at all.

Pros

+ Freedom to plan own working hours + Salary (though only 2,5% pension)

Cons

- No working from home - Leadership serves itself, not employees - Corporate jargon over real communication - Ignores real issues, cherry-picks reviews - Lack of trust in employees - Excessive control and micromanagement - Outdated, conservative mindset - Resistant to change and adaptation - Prioritizes politics over progress - Inauthentic and unproductive culture - Employees are undervalued and unheard
