Pros

- EverCommerce (the umbrella company) and the 2 subsidiaries I worked for had some great people - kind, experienced, and intelligent - Inclusive environment - Fair compensation (but not great)

Cons

- One of the strangest, most disorganized companies I've ever worked for - There are dozens of directors and hardly any ICs (who they need desperately to do actual work) - I had no onboarding whatsoever and barely any training before I was asked to produce work - Things spoken about in my interview and offer were suddenly different once I started - This team probably isn't for you are looking to grow in your career as a marketer. Within my first month, it was clear there was no strategy nor direction (calling the work "fast-paced" doesn't hide the disorganization and complete lack of strategy. Also a strategy is not the same thing as tactics.) - I was asked to create things for the sake of creating them – there was nothing strategic whatsoever about what I was being asked to do - Simply put: I was not paid enough for having things (outside of my job responsibilities) put on my plate. This is not a case of being a "bad sport", this is a case of a specialist doing a managers job – not okay.

Pros

I got some good resume-building experience which helped me to find a much better employer.

Cons

1. There is no work-life balance. At all. I was often guilted into working 10-hour days and occasional weekends to help the team meet the unrealistic revenue goals set by the company. If those goals weren't met every month, it just meant we had to work even longer days the following month to make up for it. 2. Despite growing the business(es) YoY in the midst of a pandemic, my hard work and long hours were not rewarded during performance reviews. I was told, "Covid year is not the time to look for an increase." 3. The work I had put in behind the scenes was often accredited to my boss. 4. I was looking for advancement (this was made clear during my initial interviews), but was regularly told, "let's see how much you can achieve in the next 6 months, and then we can discuss." The goal posts for "success" were consistently moved every 6 months... 5. I was severely under-compensated for the role(s) I was filling. It always felt like they wanted more and more without ever giving anything back. 6. Most of the people in the Marketing departments are treated as disposable objects, and on more than one occasion I was told that I should be grateful I didn't lose my job when the pandemic hit.

Pros

Good benefits and amenities. Company is growing.

Cons

Corporate doesn't care about the individual, only looks at the numbers and the bottom line. No loyalty regardless of your tenure with the company.
