Pros
Laid back office environment, learning opportunities, friendly co-workers for the most part. Flexible hours, over-time pay and vacation hours. Some element of team building, and office socials. Good benefits packages with RRSP matching and cheap Goodlife Fitness membership.
Cons
Complete lack of organization, no communication between different teams, no communication between management and employees. Company is in financial crisis due to poor organization and planning. Job descriptions do not match the tasks asked of employees, if you're lucky enough to get an annual review you won't even be considered for a raise no matter how above and beyond your job description you go. Half the time annual reviews never happen, no matter the amount of times they have been requested. No more office benefits such as weekly breakfasts, social evens, lunches and parties. No incentives to really keep workers motivated, especially after two rounds of lay-offs. Over all a very shaky and unreliable company structure. If you're looking for a few months of work, this is an acceptable opportunity, but if you are looking for something long-term you may want to try a company with its feet firmly on the ground.
