Pros

I want to start off by saying that I am not a staff member who was asked to enter a good review to set off the bad. I say that because I honestly thought that some of the good reviews I read below sounded fake. Some of the their cons don't make any sense. That being said I am happy as a consultant with TutorABC. I don't have to make my own lesson plans or give free demos and wait to see the student likes me. I find the schedule to be flexible enough. Although they allow you to make your own schedule you are required to work a certain amount of peak hours on the weekend and during the week, so it's semi flexible. The Students (clients) are mostly nice. The different teams, scheduling, payroll, etc are always available and pretty easy to deal with when I need them. I disagree with with one of the consultants that was upset about not being paid for not filling out the feedback form. That is the policy but they are so easy to fill out and i have never had a technical issue submitting them. I have always received payment.

Cons

Communicating with the staff can been a pain sometimes. I try to remember that English may not be their first language and even though they are all quite fluent, I feel that there are things that get lost in translation sometimes. I HATE that they take Taiwanese taxes of 6% every pay period. No other school does this. I feel limited on the amount of money I can make because If I make more than $900 they will deduct 18% which will then have me spinning my wheels so I would go above that. If I ever need to make more money I'll have to find another school to work for. This is the biggest con of them all. I don't like the lessons sometimes. Students ratings can be annoying but overall if you are nice and you smile and you give them good tips they will give you a good rating.

Pros

remote, pick your own shifts

Cons

terrible pay, unfair review system (a kid would rate you and if they didn’t want to take the class, they just gave you a bad rating)
