Pros

I got paid, I guess. In all seriousness, when I first started many years ago, we did some cool things and achieved some great milestones. Sadly, times have changed.

Cons

I’m embarrassed to have hipages on my resume, if I’m being honest. What a circus of a business, led by utter clowns. The leadership team don’t have a clue what they’re doing; parroting everyone else’s ideas and thoughts. Not a single original discussion has been had in that boardroom. But as soon as things go bad, as they seem to do on a daily basis, it’s all of the other staff that cop the blame. The CEO doesn’t even know what day it is most of the time. I worked here several years ago when it was an “okay” place to be. We had okay parties, okay staff perks, okay team morale, okay leadership, and it felt okay to turn up each day. Over the past 12 months or so, it’s become one of the worst working environments I’ve ever been in. AI has become a panic button for the leadership team. Have you tried out some of the hipages AI features? I’d recommend it if you want a laugh. Product team is the weakest bunch of people I’ve ever seen. Engineering have some okay people, but leadership and process is archaic meaning nothing of value ever gets done. Marketing team is comical and I’m honestly not sure how we even have a customer base. P&C are just in it for themselves and couldn’t care less about staff, only which self-entitled “award” they can win next. Sales function is a revolving door - show me one decent sales agent that’s been employed for more than a year and I’ll show you a flying pig. And the employees that have been there with a multiple year tenure I can only imagine are either 1) in golden handcuffs with a massive salary, as hipages can’t afford to lose what minimal talent they do have, so are being financially blackmailed into staying, or b) are too dumb to realise they’re in the worst job they’ll ever have. I’d encourage you to read some tradie reviews of hipages - they universally hate it. And I wholeheartedly sympathise with them. Speaking as an ex employee; tradies, honestly, don’t waste your money with hipages. You’d be better off with a sandwich board around your neck on a street corner. And if you’re considering a job here, my advice is to run for the hills. Don’t even entertain the idea. But don’t take my word for it; just look at their nose diving share price, or go ask the many many ex employees who jumped ship and escaped. Do your due diligence!

Pros

Incredible First Month I’ve only been here for 30 days, but my experience has been absolutely amazing. Seamless Onboarding The interview process was incredibly thorough, allowing me to meet so many team members that I felt like I already knew a ton of people before my actual first day. Warm & Friendly Team I am surrounded by brilliant, incredibly friendly colleagues who have been so patient and welcoming. Immediate Support & Growth I already feel deeply supported by management, and it’s clear from month one that they genuinely care about my professional development and future career growth. Amazing Office Location The office is in a fantastic, lively location that is super convenient and full of amazing lunch options! Tons of Events In just four weeks, I've already participated in some of the tons of events and team-builders they host, making it incredibly easy to bond with my new coworkers. The Verdict Even just one month in, it is obvious that this company truly invests in its people and offers a fantastic social atmosphere!

Cons

The only real downside is that between the amazing office location and the endless supply of incredible snacks, my willpower is completely gone—it’s near impossible to eat healthy here!
