Pros

I work in eBay's Advertising business. Biggest pro for me joining this company has been the amazing culture across the company and in this business organization. People are very committed to collaboration and partnership, helping each other succeed in our mission to delivering great experiences to our buyers and sellers. Management has been great. Compensation is very competitive. The work environment if you live close to an office is hybrid. There is a very good vibe coming into the office, seeing coworkers and making unexpected connections. I personally see a really good effort toward hiring a diverse workforce and am super proud of being part of such a company.

Cons

The hiring process took a bit longer than I had hoped. At the same time, I understand that the business wanted to take the care to make sure that they are hiring the right people. I appreciate and respect that. For me, the rationale for this was shared with me and I really appreciated the transparency.

Pros

Good work, lots of AI experiments, AI innovation, latest tech stack, Co-workers are very co-operative and helpful. Most AI tools are still unlimited.

Cons

Some teams are over-working due to smaller teams as a result of recent layoffs. Office perks (like catered food, snacks) are dwindling every quarter even though company wants every employee to be 3 days a week in office. Company wants 80 percent code to be generated by AI but no clear guideline how to achieve that.

Pros

-easy to start and list items -cheaper shipping than retail -high demand items sell quick -make extra income

Cons

-customers / buyers that put in Cart but never buy. eBay does not survive on window shoppers and neither do I -low demand items can wait for years -need a ton of inventory, but high demand as possible, otherwise you will probably fail like me -buyer fraud - trying to get your items for free -competition where some sellers have items selling way under what you are selling for and they do not seem to care about profit at all based on how low the price is (ie: books) -buyers don't leave feedback especially if you are new, so it makes it really hard to get going -scammers but not a whole lot, definitely if you're new tho
