Pros

Compare to big companies, like Google, eBay is small. So it is easier to connect with people and to understand the business. People are generally nice. Work-life balance is good. Although there is no free lunch at eBay, the other benefits are good, a few team events over the year and a big company event at theme park every year.

Cons

The tech is somewhat behind. No career development. Promotion is hard if you are not "manager's people". A product-manager controlled company, scientists and engineers must do what PMs ask to do. Some people don't contribute too much but still stay well in the company.

Pros

Good work, lots of AI experiments, AI innovation, latest tech stack, Co-workers are very co-operative and helpful. Most AI tools are still unlimited.

Cons

Some teams are over-working due to smaller teams as a result of recent layoffs. Office perks (like catered food, snacks) are dwindling every quarter even though company wants every employee to be 3 days a week in office. Company wants 80 percent code to be generated by AI but no clear guideline how to achieve that.

Pros

some orgs are super lay-back where ppl come to the office after 10 and leave before 4

Cons

structure uncertainty, the org I was in experienced a year long re-org and during that time engs don't have much to work on. quality isn't really a priority here somehow, it's just a very old company where no one really cares
