Pros

- Flexibility: Although you have to work 40 hours a week, you can create your own schedule. - Culture: I always felt accepted and respected by everyone. Team members really care for you and are always happy to help. - Growth Opportunities: Training programs are being implemented. Management also considers your wants and will try to provide new challenges that go according to that. - Work-life balance: It's very rare to go over the 40 weekly hours. Even if we have deadlines, management will try to rearrange them so that you don't have to overwork. - Creativity: For the most part, you're left on your own devices. There's structure to our content, but the way you write it is up to you, and being creative is something that is encouraged. - Open to feedback: Providing and receiving feedback is something constant at clovio. While there are people in management positions, everyone is treated equally, and no one is above critique. This makes you really feel that you can speak up and tell management when something doesn't need to be improved. And, while not all changes will be made, management hears you and takes your feedback into consideration before saying 'no'. - Benefits: In addition to flexibility and a decent base salary, the company provides other benefits as well, including health insurance, a studio in Lisbon for those who prefer to work in an office, company laptop, among others. - Management: In my experience, I always felt that management had my best interests in mind, both professionally and in my personal life.

Cons

It's a fast-growing small company. Likewise, it suffers from some of the usual growing pains of such businesses. - Processes: Processes still need to be streamlined. While there are a lot of internal guidelines to help everyone to be on the same page, it's still confusing to understand how to proceed sometimes. - Time- and activity-tracking software: While I understand the reason why we need to use time-tracking software, I also understand why it can be anxiety-inducing, especially for newcomers.

Pros

Only consider taking the job if you are at early stages of your carreer, “flexible hours” BUT you absolutely have to work full 8 hours otherwise the app the company uses to track productivity identifies it as idle time and take screenshot of your screen - literally - every 5 minutes. Not including the CEO, the rest of the team is nice and super friendly.

Cons

Crazy micromanagement from the CEO, I have never seen this before and when I tell stories to other colleagues in other companies, they are usually shocked. Management does not take feedback well and only listen to what it wants. Not much interaction with different departments and absolutely no onboarding and training provided. The CEO sends you a huge pdf document written by previous colleagues so you can read and figure it out by yourself. I would say stay here only for the time you need to help make your CV look stronger, but leave as soon as you can. Growth opportunities are also very limited.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! This new review was submitted after the removal of your earlier review with a 2/5 rating submitted on April 4, 2022. In the time that passed between your two reviews, we have witnessed clovio’s team doubling with existing team members staying on board for seven years or more, and new members being onboarded. The growth of clovio is supported by team members receiving promotions and becoming managers of a team. They are assisted in HR related matters, with guidance from both management and through external training. The friendliness and support of our team members is a result of our inclusive company culture where efforts are being rewarded. As a remote-first company, we feel it’s important that our entire team contributes to the writing of our internal processes. This means that everyone’s on the same page and can guide each other in the best way possible. We indeed offer great flexibility as this is how we achieve optimal creativity for the audiences of our media brands to enjoy. With this freedom comes the responsibility of making the most of the time we all commit to clovio. The use of our time and activity tracking app facilitates this flexibility and freedom. clovions can dedicate their time to tasks and projects as required. When there isn’t progress on tasks and projects, we are inclined to look into this with the team member to ensure that we understand the challenges faced and can help the employee accomplish their goals . Thank you once again for your feedback. Wishing you happiness and the best of luck with everything!
