Pros

Other engineers are great people who you can learn a lot from.

Cons

You will be promised the moon but never be given anything. Culture has shifted conpletely away from what it used to be. No longer are people here the same ones you work with for years, they are either fired or move on to something better. Don't want to work 60+ hour weeks you should look elsewhere. Want to use PTO that you schedule 6 months in advance? Get ready for your manager to try and tell you not to take it one week before. I used to wake up every morning and look forward to work. I left once it became clear the current leadership team is obsessed with stock price over anything. You will get a favorable review at the end of the year then be fired 6 months later for not meeting expectations.

Not only does Zip do a great job at foster culture in a remote environment, but they also provide a great competitive comp package

Pros

They live their company values and the culture at Zip is felt from day 1 and even during the interview process. Everyone knows there are high expectations but they also know it is a team effort, and human centered approach to management, leadership, and getting things done. The benefits are great (health insurance covered at 100%) and the pay is on par with the market. They reward your hard work and are flexible for parents and life outside of work. It is also a very diverse group of people in both leadership and throughout the company which gives Zip a competitive edge.

Cons

It is a lot of work so you do have to manage your time and capacity well in order to succeed here.
