Area managers are unable to relate to the reality of the business, showing little/fake empathy. Expectations are unrealistic and teams are pushed to their limits at every level. The work load is too intense in the smaller stores and feedback is not taken by higher management or Head Office. Even when you deliver fantastic results, get involved in projects and become an expert in a field, the promotions are based on who you know and opportunities are rarely offered for those that do not work in London, the company also ignores the right to apply (they only use it as a tick exercise).
