Pros

There is great money to be earned here (I was an In-House Marketer). As an in-house marketer, you get the advantage of also receiving an hourly pay which other employee's don't get in the marketing and sales dept. Otherwise, majority of your money will still come from the tier commission. There are also a lot of incentives throughout the month that will motivate you to work harder (spiffs). Your co-workers are also honestly great people, just in the wrong company.

Cons

There are a lot of things done wrong in the marketing here, and it all starts with the way the whole company operates. The company DOESN'T care about their customers. Each and every single person that checks in the hotel will be sent to you and it is your job to get them in into that presentation. Now that sounds pretty easy, but understand that every time this owner goes to travel with their timeshare, they are bothered by a marketer to go to that presentation. So on that 10th time that person travels, i dont think they want to spend 1+ hours of a salesperson trying to sell them more points (Its really only about the points.) So the job is doable, there are a lot of people that meet the quotas, but there is something wrong when you see a group of 10 marketers and every month 1 marketer gets fired based on their numbers. A new hire is expected to meet numbers after a (free-month), after that you are up to expectation like your other marketers who has been there for 2+years. Now these senior marketers understand the nature of the job and will take advantage of new hires in any sort of way. (they hate their job too, they just like the money) Hours are also really bad, you are expected to be available 5 days of the week from 7AM-11PM in 8 hour blocks. every week your schedule will be different so you will never really have some sort of schedule plans for any of your weeks. You will ruin people's vacations. Everyday there will be a person you send to a presentation and they will come back regretting everything and will hate you throughout the duration of their stay.

Pros

If you last long enough you can take advantage of some good travel deals. You get decent benefits at a reasonable price almost immediately.

Cons

The job itself (CMA) is getting people to take timeshare tours at the Camlin in Seattle. You get stuck at all sorts of outdoor or indoor kiosks the management cannot even stock with the materials do do your job. The management is pretty ineffective and has no idea of how to communicate. You do not get an email address so they use text messaging to communicate. You get your schedule for the next week on a Friday morning so planning a life is nearly impossible, and you never know when your days off are. They claim you can make a good paycheck. I know many at Wyndham in this position do. However, you need good offers (which Seattle did not have) and good locations which there were not enough of to make the bonus levels. People came for one day and left, the turnover is likely nearly 100% per quarter. If you want minimum wage for a few weeks go for it. If you want a real career this is not the place. If you are any good as a CMA you should go elsewhere and use those talents for more money!
