Lack of training makes you seek out ways to learn on the job; like Wikipedia and YouTube. Lack of career progression and threats of redundancies make you appreciate your job. Enforced leave over the Christmas period means more time with family.

Lack of pay increases encourage poor productivity and belligerence Lack of training ensures you do a half arsed job. Good people, easy to work with. Good pay. Great benefits. Job security for people who are willing to stick around, and do a good job.

Cons

Doesn’t pay quite as much as some north slope jobs.

Great to get more experience in different areas

Cons

Completely project based. They don’t let you change on overhead even for 1 hr. It means if you can’t change on the project, they don’t pay you. So many people are full time but they don’t receive the full salary. No one tells you that when they want to hire you. There is no work/life balance
