Pros

When you don’t have to interface with management (managers, directors, VP’s, etc), great peers and colleagues.

Cons

Where do I start….I came to WWT because they had a minority owner in David Steward. I, for some reason, thought this would be a racially diverse company, from management to the engineering staff, with a plethora of opportunities to advance your career; however, I was completely wrong! There were things that were done to me over the course of 6-8 months of my tenure at WWT that were unbelievable. I was accused of aggressive behavior racially synonymous with a certain minority group. I was accused of unprofessional behavior by certain account teams and management despite their being no evidence to support these assertions. Management was unsupportive despite there being plenty of evidence to support my claims of what I was experiencing as racial microaggressions. Management loved the terms, “coach them up,” and “right seat on the bus,” which only applies to the majority. There’s so much I dealt with in my short tenure at WWT, and despite being technically “laid-off,” I declined the severance out of principle. I wanted nothing from a company that treats minorities in the way I, and others were treated. I was offered a couple options, #1 was totally disrespectful and not really an option, and #2 was resignation with severance, I chose neither. I’m extremely blessed to no longer be at WWT. The stress from this situation added 5 years to my life that I can’t get back. I’ll leave with this final note, I only experienced these issues within a certain group at WWT. I’m not sure how the rest of the company is/was, but under the conditions I described, I’m glad I didn’t stick around to find out. These are my opinions derived through my experiences with the company. The great thing is that I have all of this well documented. I started capturing it early on in the process as part of my own professional therapy session. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the information, but I will show it to my children as they need to know what to expect when they enter corporate America.

Pros

My manager was very supportive she would give great feedback and try to help me grow . The people were awesome. My coworkers were great and supportive.

Cons

For all the projects we had regional managers there was one that had it out for me. This person was relentless and I went to my manager. The problem I had with this person was they never stop coming after me and my manager tried to stop this person in their tracks, but they tried a way to come after me. My manager’s manager was kind of not a good manager because he was all about the numbers and he didn’t care about the person. He never once had a one-to-one conversation with me I noticed that he played favorites with people and it’s just not good to do that. I believe that as a senior manager, you have to get to know your team instead of hearing what other people say. There was a senior project manager out there who essentially threw me under the bus. When people would resign, all of the projects that were left behind by the previous person they would dump it on one person. It is a lot of work to dump on a person. Some managers would help you grow and there are others that will do the work behind your back on a project. There was one who would start adjusting my project numbers and get mad at me. Mind you this was my first year and this manager would throw me under the bus. “Great Workplace?” Please
