Pros

Good PTO 9-5:15 Good location Friendly coworkers No paid maternity leave, but does let you work from home for a bit

Cons

Management is 100% the reason for the high-turnover with this company. The CEO and his two VP's have been in the US office for about 5 years now, and there are a total of 3 other people (two in sales) in the company (US) who have lasted over a year. I'm really not sure what "opportunities" the other reviews have talked about... There is no upward mobility with this company. Very valuable quote from an employee who currently still works there - "this is a job, not a career". Management (although they will obviously disagree with this statement) is set in their ways and not open to new ideas. Everything has to go through them and it is extremely micromanaged. The CEO does not trust his employees. I believe he actually installed cameras in the new office to make sure people weren't dipping out early.. Why hire an employee if you cannot trust them? If you need to leave early to pick up your child or go to a doctors appointment, they require you to submit a request for PTO. I felt very deceived in the end. Ultimately took two steps back in my career. No 401k.

World Manager Response

Hello potential future World Manager employees. My name is Gary A Valkenburg and I am the Founder and CEO of World Manager. I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself and not hide behind anonymity. As the Founder of World Manager I felt it was important for me to give you a look from our perspective on how we run our company and what we believe in. Then I will address the above comments and inaccuracies in these comments made by an anonymous person. Our motto’s, and my personal beliefs are ‘respect our people’, ‘love our product’ and ‘create raving brands’. A large portion of our Global Leadership team meetings focus on our team development, what courses we can provide for our team members, what extra training would they like, and how can we improve our workplace. In the past 12 months we have moved into new offices in Vancouver Canada and Dallas Texas providing all new office amenities and perks to our teams. We are also now in the process of renovating our Sydney office and providing the same staff perks and amenities. As a Leadership team do we make mistakes? Yes sometimes we do, but we are quick to correct, and do not make the same mistakes twice. A constant focus for our Leadership team is how we can make our work place better, and add more value. Now I would like to address the completely inaccurate comments above. Out of the first 10 staff we've hired since our doors opened in the US just over 5 years ago, 7 are still with us today. 2 of those original employees were promoted and are now VP's. 2 other junior employees were also promoted to National Managers for their respective divisions. The other 3 of the original 10 members are nearing their 3rd year with the company as of this week. The team has now doubled in size in the last 2 years. With our new Flagship office in Dallas, two cameras were installed with views for both entry points for employee safety, security and obvious insurance purposes. To ensure the video cameras were not mis-used, ONLY myself, the CEO, of the company has access to any of the footage in case there is an incident requiring the review of footage. Finally, we DO have insurance that covers maternity leave. As World Manager has grown, so has the benefits packages. The more we grow, the more we’re able to offer. In late 2018, we implemented a full benefits package that includes Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance as well as Short Term Disability (which includes Maternity Leave) and Long Term Disability Insurance. We have a generous PTO policy as well. I have never discussed this with any of our staff within our business, but since this review sheds a light on our company like we do not care about our staff and we treat them poorly, I’m going to provide another perspective. We implemented the full benefits package including maternity leave late last year. But one of our valued employees who was pregnant did not get covered because it was considered a ‘pre-existing condition’. Myself and another VP donated weeks of our personal PTO (paid time off) to help our team member out. I would never normally share personal information publicly, but I wanted to let all of you potential future employees know how much our leadership team do care. We have worked too hard over the years to let anonymous people blatantly misspeak about our company. It’s obvious that we were not aligned with the individual that posted the comment above. I hope I’ve been able to clear up a few of the statements or perceptions that I feel are inaccurate. Thanks to the ridiculous Glassdoor policy of allowing anyone to say whatever they want with no repercussions I have felt obligated to post this lengthy reply on how I feel the people within our company should be treated.
