Pros

People: Nearly every person I interacted with at Workiva is truly a gem. By this I mean they are kind to each other, not emotionally abusive, set expectations well, and generally are funny, open minded and clever. Culture: Workiva is one of those rare places that is actually as good to work for as people say. The people are great, there is a strong sense of emotional safety, nearly everyone is kind and open minded. The CEO is actually wonderful, and his easy going, but motivated culture really does trickle down. The boys culture that seemed to kind of exist a few years ago is mostly gone also, which I love! I think Workiva has a great outlook. Pay: The pay is on par for the cities the offices are located in. If you want to live in a bigger or HCOL city, you will probably need more pay. There is a bonus of about a month of pay each year, if I remember correctly. Benefits: 401k with no match. Commuter benefits in some cities. Mountain Side Fitness discount. Healthcare is pretty good and you don't have to pay anything monthly for it, HSA/FSA. Vision and dental at no cost to you. Most standard stuff, besides the 401k not being matched Work/Life Balance: This is my favorite aprt of WK, at least in my role there is a great work life balance. When I was hired my manager specifically pointed out that while WK is KINDA like a family, it's not your family, your family is. He highlighted that actual outside of work life always comes first, and the CEO really echos this. Luckily, they mean what they say and I almost never had overtime work, or after-hours calls /on-calls to worry about. Perks: You don't have to travel too much, there is legit work from home available, the offices are nice and have pretty good snacks and all that stuff for free Management: SO dorky to say, but a lot of the management is good here I interned here and worked here full time after having a different job in between. I've worked about 5 other places in my life and this is hands down the best. I'm really only leaving because I am moving to a HCOL city and need more pay. I would recommend Workiva to others.

Cons

- 401k match needs to happen! It's one of the things that sets WK apart negatively from other companies, which now have may of the same perks. - Pay is based on city of hire, if you want to move you can but you aren't eligible for a pay change, this usually isn't an issue though because pay here is generally competitive in MOST cities - No unlimited PTO, not really a gripe of mine, because a lot of people say no one uses their unlimited PTO, but I do wish employees under 2 years got a little more PTO - For Customer Success people I think there is an intense time around filing season, but I don't have a lot of info on this. - Medium amount of upward/any mobility. I think they're working on this with a new Workday feature, and goals, but it seems the ladder to climb is somewhat short at Workiva, though they are clear about what people are assessed on to get to the next level.

Pros

Remote work and flexibility Size of company is great - not too big, not too small Great coworkers (aside from the leadership)

Cons

- Horrible psychological work environment. The senior leaders in my department were absolutely terrifying and incredibly nitpicky, rather than encouraging and supportive to their people. - Career growth is a joke at Workiva, and leaders make it clear by their actions (and at times, words) that it's not a priority. I remember sitting on a department call where my VP said, "Growth is not getting a promotion at Workiva," and the context in which she said it made it feel cold, patronizing, and disheartening. Departmental calls were often uncomfortable and totally deflating. - Extremely unrealistic and very subjective standards - No manager accountability - People constantly live in fear, but the work flexibility and "great place to work" facade keep employees stuck in a toxic loop - When they get the slightest whiff of unhappiness, they push you out. I've seen it time and time again (which then creates a toxic fear culture) - Constant gaslighting
