Pros
Fun Slack culture, nice coworkers, benefits and time off policy
Cons
Managers, esp senior management, are valued at Wistia but they don’t value and listen to the individual contributors that work for them. Many IC’s are more competent than their managers but the managers get all the credit for their hard work. I was an IC and I had high hopes for my job and career growth at Wistia… my ideas weren’t appreciated or listened to and I felt invisible. My boss was not interested in helping me setup a career growth path at Wistia. The company does not let employees grow in the company, they pack their teams with managers from outside of the company that pat each other on the backs for doing nothing and the IC’s do all the grunt work and they’re not listened to and get burned out and eventually leave. Most employees are kind but there are some bad apples that play dirty and they know how to suck up to management. If they don’t like you they will make your job a living hell and management will do nothing about it. Wistia has a DEI program but they don’t enforce it enough bc some managers don’t care.
