Reasonable clientele, but confusing structure, unprofessional and unstable environment - Talent Acquisition Consultant Wilson Employee Review

Pros

-Work from home -Mostly great co-workers who work across the country -Reputable clients -Staff/recruit for mostly perm positions

Cons

-Confusing structure (not once did I know how to be promoted or how people got promoted, only that the people "did good work.") -They seem to only hire recruiters or "talent acquisition consultants" on contract to begin with. They typically tell you it should be 3 months before going perm, but myself as well as many of my co-workers never went perm, or it took them a lot longer than 3 months. And of course as a contractor, benefits nor commission or bonuses are attainable - not that they're anything to brag about anyway. -Many lay-offs (due to above) without notice. Yes, a contract means a temporary position, but ANY kind of notice or timeframe of how long the contract lasts would be nice. WilsonHCG style is to let you know the day of that your contract is ending/ended. -Selfish company. They will do anything for a client (including over-promise) but hardly anything for their employees (especially contractors). Definitely make their contractors (i.e. newer employees) feel like peons. I think they mainly hire contractors so they can bill their clients, and will do so for as long as they can, and that's why contracts abruptly end - when they can't bill a client anymore - makes sense, but exactly my point, a selfish company just out to make as much money as they can, and use and abuse contractors to do so. -Working from home was good and bad here. It was great to be able to put in your hours at different times of the day/night, but a lot of times I felt like I was left in the dark and clueless. My "manager" didn't know a lot of the answers to my questions (regarding clients, projects, positions, my contract/situation, etc.) and would either act like she didn't know about things (when I felt like she did) or would never really try to get answers. Many things seemed very shady here. -They keep changing their name (and everything else with it - logo, website, titles of positions, etc.), probably because they need to re-brand and try to gain credibility again each time. They used to be Wilson HR, and before that they were Wilson Recruiting Worlwide, and who knows before that.

Pros

I've experienced great leadership under a number of different accounts over the past 4 years at Wilson. There is room for growth, professional development, and genuine teamwork mindset toward providing the best service possible to our clients.

Cons

No real cons from my experience working here over the past 4 years.

Pros

Most employees are committed, hardworking and genuinely care about delivering for clients. A business with significant potential - that it currently is not achieving even a quarter of.

Cons

The organization is experiencing the downstream effects of significant transformation, workforce reductions, and the departure of key talent. Leadership capacity is stretched, priorities are not consistently aligned, and communication is reactive rather than coordinated. In several areas, inexperienced leaders have inherited complex portfolios, creating an environment where micromanagement and escalation are replacing trust, delegation, and strategic leadership. The result is an operating environment that feels fragmented, under-resourced, led by knee-jerk decisions and leadership chaos. Too many leaders are focused on protecting or optimizing their own areas rather than aligning around broader business outcomes, making it difficult to maintain consistency, clarity, and momentum across the organization.
