Pros

Some talented colleagues and decent benefits.

Cons

Unfortunately, I experienced firsthand how those values aren't always upheld. After raising concerns to leadership about how my team was being underutilized and how our processes could improve, I faced clear retaliation from my manager. He repeatedly undermined me, excluded me from team opportunities, and created a hostile work environment. I reported this behavior through the proper HR channels and submitted multiple pieces of evidence showing clear violations of Western Union’s own code of conduct and retaliation policy. The investigation that followed was surface-level at best. I was later included in a layoff, while others on my team were reassigned or relocated—leaving me with the impression that the retaliation was swept under the rug.

Pros

Western Union was a great place to grow if you are motivated. The company wants to do well and generally efforts are well focused.

Cons

Lots of turnover that hurts a company that does write it's how to do things down. Challenging market that takes market share consistently.
