Cons

Before I start listing the endless list of Cons with this so-called "Fortune 1" company, Let me briefly share my experience. I was hired for the role of Data Analyst II as part of the campus placement program. Since Joining, I've dedicated my skills to driving organizational growth, consistently exceeding expectations with a proactive ownership approach. I was satisfied with the work that I was involved in and had positive reviews with my periodic 1:1 connects with my manager. One fine day (about nine months after my joining), I was informed by my manager that the leadership team had recently reviewed the performance of everyone within the team, and based on that, I was put under PIP. When asked why I was under the PIP program, my manager gave unconvincing reasoning, stating that from this year onwards, leadership teams have decided that each team must put 5-7% of the workforce under PIP to improve overall team productivity. Throughout my PIP period, I consistently achieved all set goals, garnering positive weekly reviews with my manager and maintaining open communication with HR via email without any clear hints or feedback that required any sort of improvement. Coming to the last week of my PIP period, Just a week back, I had a positive review from my manager, and a week later, my manager informed me that the PIP was unsuccessful and the leadership had recently made the rules "Stringent" and was expecting an exemplary level of performance. Eventually, I was told to resign from the company. Despite putting in so much effort and all the positive feedback, this is what I was rewarded with. On multiple discussions with my manager and skip manager, it was ultimately unveiled that the leadership team actually wanted to downsize the workforce. So, instead of directly laying off the employees, this company puts employees on PIP and uses it as a Benefit of Doubt to avoid providing a severance package. Coming to some major Cons: 1. The leadership team of this company is a total mess. Nobody cares what you do. All they care is only for their own personal benefit. 2. The managers and HR are merely Puppets. 3. 80% of the projects have no visibility across senior leadership. All they care about is direct value-generating projects/initiatives. So, most of the effort and time you put in ultimately goes in vain. 4. Regarding work culture, I would say it depends on the team and the project you are involved in. Some might have a decent work culture, while others might have a pathetic one. So please think twice before joining this company. Avoid being lured by enticing packages and perks; prioritize substance and genuine value.

Pros

Work-life balance is good in most teams. 9 to 5 is doable, but if you have partners working in India, then you might need to have meetings in earlier mornings and late evenings. Culture is good. In the sense that if most people in your team have families, then it's common that people leave work at 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. to pick up kids.(and work at home after that)

Cons

Moving very slow. Not very tech-driven. Business has a lot to say and huge power. Company is going through restructuring frequently. Almost feel like two to three reorgs every year. The new CPO Daniel D seems only good at hosting fireside events than driving real AI innovations. Engineering and Product feel working in silo for AI innovation. A lot of PMs feel not clear about their scopes under the ask that everyone should be a global PM covering US, international, and Sams club. No idea how you can have one PM cover three regions when you have three different sets of engineering team and business team, and the business conditions are so different. Leadership expects individuals to figure out for themselves. Engineering competency is a big concern, especially for AI-related work Not recommending joining now because of the layoffs, reorgs, and chaos.
