Pros

Ony good things about is lot of perks. You transportation is managed .food and snacks are available although food is not that great but it's okay. There are certain teams if you are lucky to get in will be good otherwise it's no different than a service based company. If you don't have any offer from good company maybe then you should think of joining it.

Cons

Leadership in us is very bad in respect to technology. Most of the US Managers behave like they are active politician .They are so arrogant and very hard to explain anything technical to them. Meeting does not have any timeline .So if you are in call with them.30 minutes goes into 2 hour meeting. And for Indian people it' nightmare and work life balance takes a toss and I can see everyone suffering from it. Top and middle leadership in tech are also bad who are excelled in politics. They can't decide which technology or tool to be used for months. Tech infrastructure and infra support are worst I have seen in my career. You will have to wait for weeks to get VMS and access. There is bunch of hierarchy which is also controlled by some not so intelligent people in us. For india office : No proper architect. Staff Engineer and principal engineer thinks that they are God. There is so much politics here.Everywhere you see you will find out people from banking background are managers and they work like service based company managers. There are expectation will be on similar lines. Nobody pays attention to build a proper product. People who have been in this company will be treated like God but they aren't worth of s***. Newcomers are not welcomed by old people in company. They keep on complaining on smaller things to managers so that you are always in bad notes of people and that will stall your promotion and other things as well. No support from senior engineers .They are not going to guide you in any way. If you have offer from good companies like fab four or on similar lines please be advised to not join Walmart labs.

Pros

Work-life balance is good in most teams. 9 to 5 is doable, but if you have partners working in India, then you might need to have meetings in earlier mornings and late evenings. Culture is good. In the sense that if most people in your team have families, then it's common that people leave work at 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. to pick up kids.(and work at home after that)

Cons

Moving very slow. Not very tech-driven. Business has a lot to say and huge power. Company is going through restructuring frequently. Almost feel like two to three reorgs every year. The new CPO Daniel D seems only good at hosting fireside events than driving real AI innovations. Engineering and Product feel working in silo for AI innovation. A lot of PMs feel not clear about their scopes under the ask that everyone should be a global PM covering US, international, and Sams club. No idea how you can have one PM cover three regions when you have three different sets of engineering team and business team, and the business conditions are so different. Leadership expects individuals to figure out for themselves. Engineering competency is a big concern, especially for AI-related work Not recommending joining now because of the layoffs, reorgs, and chaos.
