Pros

~Opportunities to move up in the company as a manager, store manager, etc. ~Every 6 months, you are evaluated and get a raise (typically 50 cents). However, when minimum wage increases, you are not given a raise accordingly. So I never truly got a raise. ~Great retail sales/customer service experience. ~Great customer interaction ~Some opportunity for "bonus" for selling the monthly item (candy bars/batteries/etc). I made up to $5/month from this

Cons

~Minimum wage pay unless you are a manager/corporate. ~Managers micromanage a lot. My store manager used to look at us through the camera and call our cell phones to see if we flinch. If you get caught with a cell phone in your pocket, you are written up and loss prevention comes to chew you out. ~Any mistakes or broken rules will be harshly punished ~Cannot talk to other employees on the job unless you are on your break ~Breaks are exactly 15 minutes. Anything longer than this and you are typically written up ~Showing up to work 10 minutes or more late and you are written up ~Very high turnover rate. Typically an employee gets fired every month.

Pros

pay was decent I guess

Cons

no promotions, no good management, a lot of people in positions that do absolutely nothing, very cliquey, constant checking in 1:1's, no growth in your career, favoritism, toxic environment.
