Pros

-Amazing co-workers - the Inflight Teammates, GSTs and Pilots you see at work are funny, dynamic and really make the work worth it -Interesting passengers -work for the "cool" airline -decent vacation benefits -good hotels on layovers -passengers love VX. They don't come onto the plane with years worth of "chips-on-shoulders", IE, they don't have a long standing hatred of flying on Virgin. It makes our job easier.

Cons

-zero flexibility -no accountability from management or scheduling for "bending" the rules -favoritism -no trust on their part (requiring sick notes for every single sick call? puh-leeze) -terrible, awful maternity policy -bases are in very expensive cities: JFK, LAX and SFO, and the pay doesn't bode well for living there. Basically, you have to have a ton of roommates or someone else supporting you if you want to live in base. Otherwise, you need to commute, which is tough since VX has no commuting policy. -they don't consider this a "career"; that's why they offer a "career choice buy-out" every year to senior flight attendants, it's basically, here's 20k, go get yourself a real career because we don't want you here anymore......

Pros

Virgin America was a really great company to work for! Every level within the company was excited to work there including myself.

Cons

After Alaska Airlines bought them, the whole culture changed significantly and it became just another company.

Pros

Close knit community great reserve schedules 13-16 days off a month great teammate environment

Cons

With the good comes the bad... If you commute, it can be challenging since VX does not fly everywhere. Not being able to commute on your own airlines can pose some commuter problems. Watch out for burned out JFK flight Attendants that hate their job- they try to make new flight attendants miserable. Watch out for Megan and her click. ( it's a small base and they know they can get away with it)
