Pros

Benefits are above average for retail workers. Corporate policies are always changing but nonetheless in place for a professional atmosphere. The company spends much financial resources to each employee to get them trained and developed professionally on a regular basis. There is a sense of company pride and a feeling of working with an industry leader at any level of employment. The company looks to promote from within and also respects seniority. Very competitive and strives for excellence.

Cons

You may or may not get recognized for your hard work depending on the location or management team that you work with. Its a month by month business no matter how good or bad your performance is. Your weekly or monthly work schedule can drastically change due to staffing shortages or holidays. The more you excel at your position the more they will expect from you, always demanding more performance results and nothing less. Anything that is a numerically measurable metric (goal or quota) they will hold you accountable and delegate down to you. Its tough to get hired by Verizon Wireless, and easy to be let go if you don't establish yourself quickly as an asset (treat this company as just another job and it will hurt your reputation).

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
