Pros

Benefits are unmatched in my opinion except for retirement due to recent changes. Training is available in many forms, instructor led, online and tuition assistance are all very good. Gain solid work experience.

Cons

Employed for 14 years and having served half that time as a craft union employee and the other half as a management employee; The culture is very outdated! The environment demands 50 hours or more per week. Jobs and budget are being constantly reduce while at the same time the workload is increasing. Innovative thinking is treated like a criminal activity. Reorgs are a once or twice a year activity perpetuating constant chaos. Our leadership operates as if this is the 70's and we have unlimited budget, unlimited resources, unlimited time to get things done, and as if we are still the only game in town. There is little too no leadership from senior management in this environment. We are just told what to do and given little to work with.

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
