Pros

Good money and benefits for a wireless company. Get a new phone quarterly to play with 50% off bill for employees. I'm proud to say that VZW strives and invests major money to provide the best service in the US. Benefits are generous.

Cons

Every quarter there is more bad news for customers in the way we do business. Less services and more fees. Every other quarter commission structures change and they tighten the screws to make it harder to meet goals and make money. Whether for customers or employees they give the excuse of "streamlining business practices" to taike more from customers and employees. The greed is unending. I aways feel like my job is on the line. Our quota scorecards to maintain our jobs are such a distraction all month that commission is the last thing on my mind. I used to make a lot more commission, but for the last three years I've made less and less. I think they give great medical benefits so that you can afford a shrink and antidepressants.

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
