Pros

I have been employed first by PMR (Executive Assistant to Marian Frattarola-Saulino) and then Values into Action (Administrative Coordinator, currently Learning and Development Specialist) since May of 2013. I came to this organization with over 25 years training experience. In my many years of work experience, almost entirely training-focused, I have rarely encountered a more dedicated group of colleagues – at all levels. The overwhelming majority of Values into Action community members (we see ourselves as a community) are dedicated, supportive, hardworking, creative, social-justice minded, and kind. Values into Action practices Participatory Management which, simply put, means every single community member is encouraged to contribute ideas to lift and improve the organization – it’s not just talk. Everyone is valued and all ideas are given consideration. This management style is a direct result of the VALUES of our Executive Director, Marian. She leads by example and sets a tone I’ve not seen matched anywhere. Over the years I’ve known some amazing leaders and advocates, and this organization is filled with them. From the people who accept our support and live their lives on their terms, to the Community Support Workers who help make that happen, to the leadership at all levels, Values into Action is miles ahead in terms of quality supports and true advocacy. The name says it all; we put our VALUES into ACTION, every day. People first. I would absolutely recommend Values to anyone who is seeking support services focused on their individual aspirations or anyone looking for employment. No, the work isn’t always easy, what worth doing is, but you will be surrounded, supported, and lifted by a caring community along the way. Maybe this kind of environment isn’t for everyone but it sure works for me.
