Pros

-Good work-life balance -Work is not very stressful -The only financial pro is that a job at Value Line is a stepping-stone towards more lucrative opportunities elsewhere.

Cons

-The pay is EXTREMELY LOW compared to industry standards, especially in Manhattan -Upper management is insular and inaccessible, even though the company is small -Lack of clear goals and guidance from the top -Since many fellow analysts work from home, it is rather difficult to collaborate with others and network -Departments do not effectively coordinate with each other -Few options for career development and advancement

Pros

I was "let go" from the company more than a year and this was the greatest pro that ever happened to me. Currently work in a company that actually trains their new hires and treats you like a worker.

Cons

As a stock market trainee, you won't be trained at all. They don't care how you get your numbers - just get it done. A speck above minimal wage starting out way below industry level even for an entry-level job. Their retention rate is very low. They hire and fire a lot at the end of the fiscal year.
