Pros
Shift schedule is good for days off, focus on safety is a lot higher then other mines, The Pay is at par, benefits and a pension to look forward to is good, The guys you work with make the place bearable to go too day to day and year to year. You can change your environment and bid to other sites or jobs if you need a change (no change in job if you are a trades person though)
Cons
The shift schedule is long at times, focus on safety is often just a smoke and mirror show with most immediate supervisors who often put pressure on you to get the job done, Hope you get a good boss because many are built on their ego and not good leaders. With the cap of bonuses and the company continually working to take away the perks, there may not be much left holding people there in a few years. The mines and smelter is not a good environment.
