Pros

(1) Support a high-impact philanthropic mission with an amazing group of people (2) Have fun exploring creative strategies in marketing, technology, and philanthropy (3) Works with your interests + schedule Friendly note: I have lived in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now in Seattle. Through this entire transformational period, both professional and personal, I was able to virtually volunteer with UniversalGiving. There is always a way! And I am incredibly thankful to have UniversalGiving part of my path and hopeful future. Volunteering with UniversalGiving has been one of the best experiences of my life. Truly an organization that welcomes new ideas, collaboration across the globe, and supports ambassadors and volunteers to elevate individualized interests and talent.

Cons

There are no cons with interning and volunteering with UniversalGiving. Areas of growth for me were to leverage technology to quickly engage with such a diverse group of people, spanning across the globe. But I had a great time getting to know people from different parts of the world, and realizing that we are working towards the same thing. And that was incredible.

Pros

Despite dedicating significant time and effort, we received no compensation for our work. There were no meaningful learning opportunities or professional growth. Volunteering here felt like an exploitative experience rather than a chance to gain valuable skills or contribute meaningfully.

Cons

The CEO is extremely manipulative and often creates a toxic work environment. It feels like a one-man show where the CEO's whims dictate the company’s direction, leaving no room for collaboration or team input. The work culture discourages innovation and personal growth, as the CEO tends to micromanage and undermine employees' efforts. Additionally, the environment fosters disharmony among team members, seemingly to benefit the CEO's desire to maintain control through micromanagement. Overall, this is not a company I would recommend to anyone seeking a supportive and collaborative workplace. The leadership style is detrimental to both employee morale and productivity.
