Pros

Other than a positive nurturing work environment, I received free Insurance benefits for me and my family. The 401k match is way above industry standards. Not to mention that I was given stock options as a hiring bonus. I also have the flexibility to work from home twice a week. There are also numerous opportunities to earn vacations for rewards for hard work. All employees are flown out for a 1 week orientation where you are given more information about the company and you were afforded the opportunity to meet upper management including the CEO in both formal and informal settings. Our CEO Scott Scherr is very approachable. When I first met him during our New Hire Orientation, He gave the reasoning behind why he started his own company and why he treats his employees so well. He was raised that way…That’s good enough for me. I am very proud and happy to be working for a company who has a CEO wants to grow the business and retain his employees. That is another reason why it will take you a while to hire in to Ultimate Software. They want to make sure that you are the right fit for the culture and will thrive in our fast paced and growing company. It is pretty exciting around here.

Cons

Took me 6 tries to get in here…They are very picky.

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
