Pros

UKG is not perfect, but it's been a perfect employer for me the past few years. My manager is incredible, and removes any blockers to my productivity. Supports my need for time off and encourages my development. My teammates are incredible - so smart, so motivated, so interesting. I love learning from them. As an individual contributor, I'm interested in how I can leverage AI for better productivity. At UKG, there's a huge focus on AI, and as someone not in engineering or product, it's exciting to see how we're still encouraged to join AI challenges, take part in hackathons, come up with our own custom GPTs, and share our learnings with our teammates. The benefits are better than any other org's benefits I've experienced. 12 paid holidays in the US, open PTO, 20 weeks of paid maternity leave, 45% 401K match, tuition reimbursement, etc. My friends are blown away when I share our benefits.

Cons

As a remote employee, it can be difficult to make in-person connections with teammates, because the org doesn't have the budget to facilitate in-person meetings for all teams and groups. So it's really up to you as an individual to make those connections for yourself, either virtually, or locally with peer groups. Also, decision-making can be tedious, depending on the team you're working with. Some pockets prefer decision-by-committee. But that could be a by-product of new leadership in some geos/divisions.

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
