Pros

I joined UBS after graduating from Columbia. I had interned at another firm but I preferred the people at UBS and the fact that I could get a good work/life balance here. I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibility and exploring the wider opportunities here later in my career. I’ve found that wherever you are based, you can do interesting, high-quality work.

Cons

Conclusion Be scientific Do as much research as you can. Talk to people who work for companies that interest you and see if it’s a place that is right for you. You need to think about what’s most important – is it work/life balance, early responsibility, a commitment to talent development or something else? Make sure all your boxes are ticked. Another good exercise is to measure how happy people are in their jobs. If it’s a good firm, they will be.

Pros

I learned a lot while interning here. The staff took time to get to know me. They each introduced me to different aspects of the business and their specific role,s which gave me great exposure to the business. They were flexible on hours and understanding when I had a family emergency in a way other employers have not been or did not need to.

Cons

Not a low-effort position, and could get overwhelming if you were not prepared.

Pros

Very minimal pros- you are working in a call center under managers with very little experience.

Cons

Managers are useless. The greater organization refers to the Wealth Advice Center as the “WAC”… yes…. wack. It has a double meaning and the advisors on the ultra high net worth teams are known to make fun of this call center. Very unserious role.
