Pros

Decently collaborative environment. Artificial deadlines aren’t too overly aggressive most of the time. Benefits are “meh” but not the worst I’ve seen. Pay is low to mid range for comparable in your geography aside from the those positions at the tip top.

Cons

Not much of a culture to speak of. It’s a fully remote workforce with zero in-person events depending on your team. A handful of zoom get-togethers that felt more forced than people actually wanting to build camaraderie. The company is really struggling given the macro and top-down choices/direction chosen by management for the company (can only be the excuse for so long), and benefits/workforce/available tools have been impacted. Trying to build the “Amazon of car buying” but buy-in feels lukewarm.

Pros

Great Benefits & Remote Work

Cons

No matter how hard you work, there’s no recognition or pay increase. I wouldn’t recommend using the open-door policy if you have concerns about a manager. I raised an ongoing issue and ended up being written up based on claims that I wasn’t completing my work, even though I was following instructions. When layoffs happened, I was unfortunately among the first to be let go. It felt like a real slap in the face after all the time and commitment I gave to the company.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for the contributions you made during your time with the company. We’re pleased to hear that you valued our benefits package and remote work flexibility, both of which remain important components of our employee experience. We take feedback regarding recognition and our open-door policy seriously. TrueCar is committed to maintaining a workplace where employees can safely raise concerns and where all issues are reviewed fairly and objectively. While organizational changes and employment decisions are driven by broader business considerations, we understand that these transitions are difficult. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
