Pros
There is usually work to do. The culture is pleasant and easygoing for the most part. The people are easy to work with in the office and on the manufacturing floor. Everyone is willing to help you. They allow a flexible work schedule where you can come in early and leave early - as long as you work your 40 hours in a week. You typically do not need to work weekends unless you're an hourly employee and there's production going on that needs to be completed off hours in overtime. They have good healthcare including vision and dental - plus a good 401K match. They typically have the money to purchase the equipment you need to solve process problems based on the justification and business need. They also sponsor you for professional development and additional schooling. They recognize employees throughout the year through a lunch, a dinner, and an employee of the month award. A good, stable job.
Cons
Sometimes the work is not challenging and can be uninteresting. Sometimes there is too high of an expectation on production to make parts when they don't have enough resources like running equipment or more skilled workers. The same thing applies to quality - there are bottlenecks that can be fixed. There can be more cross-functional training and accountability of employees so that more than one person can step up to fill in responsibilities when others are gone. Some employees need to take more initiative to communicate across departments and understand what goes on in them - everything is connected. There are some language barriers between workers so that can make communication difficult.
