Pros

Travers is a great place to expand and grow your career. With being a smaller company, you get the chance to wear multiple hats, learn new skills and roles and you have the potential to change your own career path here. Travers is willing to invest in their employees future. There is a ton of growth opportunity for the company and all of it's employees, if that's what you're interested in. Travers is a family owned company and it maintains a family environment for the employees. Everyone here is willing to step up and help each other out as needed and we all come together at least once a month to have on site lunch parties or cook outs and celebrate together as a team.

Cons

The pay rates for most roles tend to be more entry level and are not in line with the current economy and industry averages.

Pros

The product catalog is good and customers like the sales flyers.

Cons

The biggest challenge to growing sales or bringing new customers is due to a high number of internal problems. There is a high employee turnover due to the owner refusing to pay competitive wages or invest in employee training. Supplier support is also bad in the field because they have very little or no relationship at all with corporate management in NY. Customers often have inconsistent experiences, making it hard to compete. Poor stocking levels result in many back orders and multiple shipments over many days. There are also too many shipping errors, and the ball was often dropped by customer support. All of these things force the sales people to spend a lot of time fixing problems, When you are finally able to convince a new customer to place an order, your biggest fear is the ball being dropped.
