Pros

Love the actually day-to-day work and my coworkers are wonderful

Cons

If you’re considering working here—run. American management is a complete political nightmare, riddled with bizarre decision-making and blatant favoritism. The company operates on Google Suite and free tools, refusing to invest in real resources to help employees do their jobs. For a company of this scale, it’s honestly laughable how little they’re willing to spend on actual infrastructure. Pay? Stingy. Bonuses? Practically nonexistent. Management is full of egos who demand respect and trust while proving, time and time again, that they don’t deserve either. They constantly make false promises about career growth, only to discard employees like they’re expendable. Work-life balance is a joke—leadership insists we keep the “pedal to the metal” in pursuit of their delusional “big hairy audacious goals.” If you’re a sales rep, prepare to use your personal cellphone for work, get sent to sketchy motels, and survive on a miserable $50/day budget for food and expenses. Meanwhile, individual contributions go completely unrecognized, but the director’s favorite cronies get to keep their jobs despite terrible performance. Performance reviews are entirely subjective, based on “personal brand” rather than actual KPIs or achievements. There’s clear evidence of sexism and favoritism in leadership, and promotions are totally disconnected from merit. And the worst part? It’s unclear if this company even saves food from being wasted or if it just creates more problems than it solves. But that’s a mess for another day.

Pros

The mission used to feel genuinely meaningful. In the early years, the team was passionate, supportive, and full of people who truly cared about each other and their work. Those relationships were and always have been the best part of the job.

Cons

Leadership has completely derailed the company’s culture and lost touch with what made Too Good To Go meaningful in the first place. The head of Key Accounts is known for belittling other employees and creating a fear-based environment that has driven people out in waves. It’s disheartening to see great people leave and directly cite this person as the reason, while senior leadership continues to turn a blind eye. Feedback is neither welcomed nor acted upon, and the people who remain are either too burned out to care or too afraid to speak up. In recent years, decisions have been driven by ego and short-term metrics rather than trust or long-term vision. Communication is inconsistent, priorities shift weekly, and there is very little transparency — especially around compensation. Raises of 1% or less are standard, even with strong performance, which further reinforces how undervalued employees have become.
