Pros
Timescale is a place where you get to work on interesting problems and do truly groundbreaking technical work. We are really at the forefront of a lot of innovation all over the stack (in the database, on the platform, in the kernel). This is unusual for a database company and something that gives us an edge. There is one catch: all of our work needs to be customer-focused. We don't do pure science experiments - to get to work on the most interesting projects you have to show customer focus. In addition to the interesting work we have a great team. Both as human beings and as colleagues. Everyone is super nice and cares about fellow humans and the company. People are also super-smart so you'll be challenged and learn a ton. One last thing - the founders are older and so you don't get a "bro" culture + people understand about families and children. Work is very flexible in terms of work times and working around outside commitments as long as you do good work,
Cons
We grew too quickly a few years ago and had to let people go. Nobody was happy about this. Management has put in processes to avoid this in the future. Management sometimes gets too involved in low-level decisions. They have been getting better though. Remote environment - this is both good and bad.
