Pros
I met a handful of great people at Tide. I worked hard during my time at Tide and after "doing my time" I could move on to better things.
Cons
When I started at Tide I thought I'd be there for a while. I quickly realised that wouldn't be the case. Any managerial person I encountered (i.e. from Team Leader all the way up to Exec-level), I couldn't turn to them for technical knowledge, operational support, or support for my professional development. They lacked knowledge, skills and empathy. The inequality of treatment was quite obvious based on who was promoted and who wasn't. I also witnessed managers criticising individuals to other colleagues because of their race, accent and personality. I completely get that running a business is expensive and you have many big investors to keep happy, but that was at the cost of my mental health and I believe many others' too. There's no long term vision in terms of looking after those who keep it running.
