Pros

- ThoughtSpot's core culture is built on the values of "selfless excellence", i.e. not just do excellent work and continuously raise the bar but also be selfless in doing so. There is zero tolerance for company politics and focus is truly on the impact one brings to the company. - I feel that I am doing the best work of my life and pushing the envelope in innovation in a space that has seen very little of that in past decade or so. I am being able to utilize my Computer Science depth and breadth and working on lot of fun and innovative problems. - Company is run by a visionary CEO and one of the best CTO I have had pleasure working with. No idea is considered small and information flow is very open. Slack channels are used for information flow with zero filtering and hence any news good/bad is known to everyone so that we are all on the same page on company roadmap, priorities and challenges. This is extremely empowering. - Engineering depth is enviable and I feel like I am learning a ton from the experts in almost all areas of Computer Science! - Company has the best health care options possible with ZERO cost to employee!

Cons

- Ethnic/Gender diversity in the company in engineering needs a lot of improvement. Having said that company is very committed to making that happen and I am seeing the positive outcomes already! - Company recently moved to catering lunches from Eatclub+Farmhill to GrubHub. Sadly GrubHub doesn't have much healthy choices and hence needs to change real soon.

Pros

Competitive salaries, supportive leadership, lunch stipend for those in office, decent benefits, embracing AI, truly trust in their employees, volunteer days, unlimited PTO, work life flexibility, positive and exciting culture. Honestly-- I like coming to work and I really enjoy the people I get to work with. Not a lot of my peers in my same function, but at different companies, can say that.

Cons

Can feel isolating as many of us are remote. Often only the sales team is allowed to incur travel.

Pros

- good team members and peers in mid-senior management - flexible time off (sort of) - amazing product - great tools for building with AI

Cons

- burnout culture: "intensity" is a core value that plays out as burning people out, We've lost some good people over this. - when execs ask for feedback, and people are honest, they gaslight the folks giving feedback to minimize and dismiss the issues raised. - the week between Christmas and New Year's used to be company wide time off. Now it has to be approved by management. There were clearly some executives who wanted this to happen because they couldn't stand giving the whole team time off at once. See burnout comment above. - impulsive and reactive CEO. Fire drills every week that derail current projects. Downstream, we get harpooned by our direct C-level for not meeting deadlines. Other items have to be deprioritized in order to accommodate his urgent requests; there's no way around this.
