Pros
Amazing store owners. Starting pay was really good for my first job ( I was 16 ) and I was given three raises. They understood and worked with my schedule. I learned and grew so much. I got to interact with customers, learn about shipping, packing, printing, design, and sales, and I felt like it was a job with a lot of variety. The owners always fed us at and paid us for our weekly meetings. Some customers were regulars and I got to know them pretty well, which was another great experience. Christmas-time is obviously busy season, but I enjoyed it being busy. We warmed cookies for our customers during the holiday season and it was always a good time.
Cons
Limited potential for growth. That's why I left after a year. No raise came with my ending job title of Assistant Manager, and I didn't expect one either because the title didn't really bring new responsibilities. However, at that point there was nowhere further up to go. (The single store manager we had wasn't leaving anytime soon.) Also, I didn't expect to make a lot from sales commissions, but they could have made them a little easier to achieve. They only awarded them on very specific sales which didn't come up often.
