Pros

Many diverse parts to the job which can be strategically emphasized if/when looking for employment elsewhere. Gain experience in customer service, multi-tasking, time management and operating office equipment. Likely to obtain Fingerprint Rolling Certification and/or become a Notary Public. Depending on your boss and so long as you are actively seeking knowledge, you can learn a lot about entrepreneurship, have ample opportunity for growth, and cultivate valuable and rewarding relationships with local residents and businesses.

Cons

Because UPS has a lot of relationships with various retailers, customers can be demanding and expect you to know everything about every company, especially when it comes to returns. The UPS Store and UPS Corporate are separate entities, a difficult concept to have to explain when people have certain questions about deliveries. Some franchise owners can be cheap, which affects your hours, pay, and workload.

Pros

Due to understaffing, certain staff gets more hours. Decent enough pay compared to other companies, if you're patient enough (several years later) you can finally move up. You'll do decently if you're put under a decent manager.

Cons

Always understaffed and managers say we are "overstaffed", managers can influence raises to some degree by what they say and their employee biases, etc.
