Pros

Fun to see clients beautiful items

Cons

I have been in sales for 15 + years and this is the worst job I’ve ever had. Here why: 1) very low pay with no benefits to offset that 2) unrealistic goal expectations and even when you hit your goals the most commission you make is a few hundred dollars 3) too many KPIs so that you are never doing ‘well’ across the board even when you hit 100% quota 4)I have never been so micromanaged in my life 5) this company records every text, phone call and interaction with your clients and reviews your schedule constantly to see where they can work you even more. I haven’t had a lunch or bathroom break since I’ve worked here 6) always work to do after hours and on weekends, even pressured to work during my sick days and vacations 7) customers items are always lost, damaged etc and customer service is no help so clients are constantly contacting you and yelling 8) managers say tgey will help but don’t follow through 9) you are never able to build a business that you can depend on so it’s a constant hustle and harassment of clients to give you more items

Pros

Pay and commission can be good, but the structure is unnecessarily convoluted and not as generous as it seems, and you will have no work/life balance if you want to actually make consistently high commission. If you have a true passion for luxury and fashion, you do get a lot of opportunities to handle and interact with special/rare items, and depending on store location you can meet a lot of interesting industry people and celebrities, especially during Fashion Weeks

Cons

Poor and unsupportive management with extremely unrealistic demands and expectations; you will get virtually no training, but are immediately expected to know how to do everything. The overall company culture is just unpleasant and very cliquey, and there's constant employee turnover. The online customer service system is terrible, so you will frequently have to handle customer issues that have nothing to do with you/your sales.
