Pros

Occasional Free Food, You get to work with cool and often rare pieces of clothing, You get to meet a few people who share the same values as you about clothes

Cons

10 hour work days, Oversaturation of people doing the same job, Managers have little to no education or knowledge of menswear, management gets paid ~2.5 times what you make, unless you've been working this 17/hr job for over a year and a half there is no room for upward movement, little to no room for overtime unless you sign up early and are willing to come in on one of your days off... I started working for this company because I believed in their values, their values internally are crap. Copywriters have no opportunity to make overtime, the benefits are pretty decent if you're fine with 20% of your paycheck being siphoned away. Management does not care about anyone in this position, your voice is worthless, trust me, I tried. They will constantly change what they want out of you under the guise of the company "still being a startup" despite once making all of the copywriters take an hour out of their day to see the UMs celebrating in Las Vegas about making over ~500 million in gross revenue half-way through 2018. People constantly brag about swiping items, whether it is from the physical store or the warehouse. I would see coworkers intentionally damage merchandise if they didn't want to write copy for it, brought this to management and they did nothing. They had a 2 minute speech on it during the morning meeting, but it was never fully addressed. I could go on for so many more paragraphs, but basically DONT WORK HERE AS A COPYWRITER.

Pros

Pay and commission can be good, but the structure is unnecessarily convoluted and not as generous as it seems, and you will have no work/life balance if you want to actually make consistently high commission. If you have a true passion for luxury and fashion, you do get a lot of opportunities to handle and interact with special/rare items, and depending on store location you can meet a lot of interesting industry people and celebrities, especially during Fashion Weeks

Cons

Poor and unsupportive management with extremely unrealistic demands and expectations; you will get virtually no training, but are immediately expected to know how to do everything. The overall company culture is just unpleasant and very cliquey, and there's constant employee turnover. The online customer service system is terrible, so you will frequently have to handle customer issues that have nothing to do with you/your sales.
